Alvin "Al" Boerman, 86, of Forsyth died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at his residence. The visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday, March 24th in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Peter Tammeling officiating. Burial will be in the Snapp Cemetery, Forsyth.

Alvin Bernard Boerman was born Tuesday, December 29, 1931 in Cicero, IL to Ben and Minnie (Hoffman) Boerman. He attended the Englewood Christian High School in Englewood, IL. He met his neighbor, Joan Brands in Cicero in 1949. They were married April 6, 1951 in Cicero. They lived in Cicero for a few years and moved to Hinsdale, IL. He worked as a milkman, janitor, truck driver and taxi driver. He and Joan and four children moved to Forsyth in 1968. In 1970 he started the Boerman Septic Service which is still in the family. He officially retired in 2004.

Al was a hard worker, loyal, dependable and good provider. Al was a jokester with a great sense of humor. Most of all, he was very devoted to his family and loved being a grandfather. Al and Joan enjoyed traveling, especially in Montana. He also enjoyed working in the yard, watching Mixed Martial Arts and football. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Forsyth and a former Chief in the Forsyth Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Joan of Forsyth; four daughters: Sharon Hunter of Forsyth, Beverly Cardwell and husband, Lester of Kirbyville, Bonnie Cardwell and husband, Donald of Kirbyville and Wendy David and husband, Wayne of Seymour; nine grandchildren, Eric Hunter, Aaron Cardwell, Matthew Cardwell, Daniel Cardwell, Jeffery David, Melissa Key, Adam Cardwell, Brian David and Michael Cardwell; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Harriet and Helen.

Memorial in memory of Al Boerman may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2936 E. Battlefield, Springfield, MO 65804.
