Bessie B. Johnson, 94, of Forsyth, died Sunday, August 4, 2019 in the
Forsyth Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday,
August 17 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home. Interment will be in
the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
Bessie Bernadine Johnson was born Sunday, March 29, 1925 in Boone, IA to
Holley and Leola (Samberg) Carroll. She attended school in Luther, IA and
graduated with the class of 1942. She met Harold W. Johnson and they were
married October 28, 1942 in Bethany, MO. Bessie and Harold lived in Boone,
IA and Bessie worked at Bourns Fabrication in Ames, IA until she retired in
1985. She and Harold moved to Forsyth in 1986.
Following their retirement, they traveled extensively. After sixty-one years
of marriage, Harold died in 2003. In her leisure time, Bessie enjoyed cross
stitching, sewing, knitting, crocheting and crafts.
She is survived by two daughters, Sally Johnson of Forsyth and Debbie Davis
of Taneyville; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two

Barbara Smith; son-in-law, Major Robert M. Johnson; two infant
grandchildren, Mark and Angela Davis and eight brothers and sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral
Home, Forsyth, MO.
