Betty J. Sprague, 90, of Branson, died Sunday June 9, 2019 in the Forsyth Care Center. Services will be private with interment in Quantico, VA.
Betty Joyce Sprague was born Saturday, October 27, 1928 in Tulsa, OK to Joy and Exie McReynolds. She attended school in Tulsa and graduated with the class of 1946. She was married to Gerald Sprague in 1979 in Fair Fax, VA. She owned an advertising agency and worked in the White House during the Nixon administration. She and her husband also hosted a local talk radio show in Arlington, VA and owned and operated with her husband Gerald, Arlington Armature, re-building electric motors. She lived in Washington, DC, Virginia, Boca Raton, Florida and later in Branson.
She loved traveling. She cruised around the world on the Queen Elizabeth II. Her family promoted music and Betty played the clarinet but enjoyed singing more. She was a very elegant, classy, sweet, gentle and kind lady that was always thoughtful of others and never complained.
She is survived by four nephews: Bob Martin and wife, Dianne of Syksville, MD, John Gates and wife, Lisa of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, Donald Gates of San Jose, CA and Brett McReynolds of CA; two nieces, Darlene White and husband, Doug of Fairfield, CA and Heidi Budnick and husband, Jerry of Newberry Park, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald Sprague; a brother, Denny McReynolds and a sister, Mary Gates.
Memorials in memory of Betty and Gerald Sprague may be made to the Office of Alumni, Syracuse University, 401 University Plaza, Syracuse, NY 13244-3020.
