Brian A .Sommerfeld, 70, of Forsyth died Thursday, April 13, 2017 in the Forsyth Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be private.

Brian Allen Sommerfeld was born Sunday, September 22, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Alfred and Katherine (O'Brien) Sommerfeld. He attended the Batavia, IL High School and graduated in the
Class of 1965. He then started his Electrician Apprenticeship in DuPage County, IL. In 1966 he married his high school sweetheart, Karen Adeski. In 1978 he and Karen moved to Southern California where he was as an electrician. He retired in 2004 and in 2005 they moved to Forsyth because they loved the area.

Brian was a happy person that loved to laugh and be funny. He was a talker who never met a stranger. He was a great fan of the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey team and enjoyed woodworking and painting. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Sommerfeld of Forsyth; a daughter, Georgia Sommerfeld and husband, Gary Decarvalho of Kissee Mills, MO; two brothers, Michael Sommerfeld and wife, Jeannie of La Grange, IL, Patrick Sommerfeld and wife, Annie of Batavia, IL; three sisters, Karen Rezek of Southern CA, Nancy and husband Tony of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Mary Flynn and husband, Joe of IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
