Claude "Butch" Lightfoot, 80, of Forsyth died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his residence. Services will be private.

Claude Taylor Lightfoot was born Wednesday May 18, 1938 in Corona, CA. He attended school in Corona and graduated from the Corona High School with the class of 1957. He then enlisted in the US Air Force and served until 1962. While in the military, he married Carolee Bartlett, a girl he had known since the second grade. Claude was transferred to the George AFB in Victorville, CA. While in the service he worked as a ground equipment repairman. Following his honorable discharge in 1962, he and Carolee moved to Placentia, CA where he worked for the Atlantic Research Corporation as a Calibration Tech. In 1965 he was transferred to Moab, UT where he ran a Calibration Lab. In 1974 he and Carolee opened a TV and appliance store, "Lightfoot TV and Appliance" in Moab. They closed in 1988 and moved to Payson, AZ until 1995. Together they bought a sail boat and lived in the Caribbean for a year. They then resided in Eagle Point, OR until 2006 when they moved to Forsyth.

Claude was an easy-going, funny, awesome and all-around good guy that enjoyed building RC Model Airplanes, sailing, traveling, building dune buggy bodies and woodworking. He was a former president of the Rotary Club in Moab and was a member of the Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Carolee of Forsyth; two sons, Dennis Lightfoot and wife, Stella Ann of Moab, UT, Kevin Lightfoot and wife, Tracey of Forsyth; two daughters, Terri Nunn and husband, Barry Setzer of Moab and Pamela Schocknmyer and husband, Jerry also of Moab; Thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
