Clifton F. Davis, 60, of Springfield died Monday, March 12, 2018 at his
residence. Military honors will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 20
in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery Springfield.
Clifton Francis Davis was born Tuesday, October 1, 1957 in Ava, MO to
Clarence Edmond and Gail Mildred (Kunze) Davis. The family moved to
Springfield and Clifton graduated from Central High School. He then went to
college to study psychology. He joined the Peace Corp where he built
houses. After the Peace Corp, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy. Following his
military service, he moved back to Springfield where he worked in various
jobs such as factory work and roofing. He retired in 2014 due to a disability.
Clifton was a hard worker that always wanted to help others. He enjoyed
music, football, basketball and spending time with his son. He was a good
father, brother, and uncle with lots of friends.
He is survived by a son, Benjamin Davis of Springfield; four brothers: Lyle
Davis and wife, Judy of Climax Springs, MO, Ed Davis and wife, Judy of Nixa,
Own Davis and wife, Amy of Long Lane, MO, Jerry Davis of Springfield; three
sisters, Ruth Cross of Springfield, Lori Davis of Springfield and Misty Bridwell
also of Springfield.
The family would like to specially thank Clifton's best friend, Penni Dillstrom
for all her love, care and support for Cliff during his illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beverly Gregory and
