Dale Hughey, 73, of Taneyville died Saturday,
July 14, 2018 in Taneyville. Services will be
private.

Sammy Dale Hughey was born Wednesday, July 19, 1944 in Cedar Creek, MO to Sammy Clay and Oma (Smith) Hughey. In 1954 the family moved to Grant Pass, OR. He graduated from the Grant Pass High School in the class of 1962. He worked in a lumber mill for a while then moved back to Taney County. Dale started his own business with his brother, "Hughey Sanitation. Dale then worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Trail Line Trucking. He met Doris Hunter in 1994 and they were married in February 1995 in Taneyville. Dale concluded his working career by working for American Disposal out of Reeds Spring in Stone County. He retired in 2008.

Dale was a hard worker that was ornery and cantankerous at times with a great sense of humor. He was a simple man that would help anyone in need. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting and hanging out on the front porch. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of Taneyville; two sons, Dennis Hughey and wife, Tammy of Reeds Spring, MO, Dorman Hughey of Branson, two daughters, Amanda Trevino and husband, Clay of Republic, Mo, Betty Marxen of East Moline, IL; a brother, Ron Hughey of Taneyville, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dawny Hughey and five brothers, Dorman, Vernon, James, Harley and Wendell.
