Davin E. Oliphant, 49, of Forsyth, MO, passed away July 18, 2017. He was born in Iola, KS. He lived in Iola, Junction City, KS, and Kansas City, MO. In 1975, his parents moved to Forsyth, MO. Davin attended Forsyth Schools and graduated in 1985. He attended NACC in Harrison, AR for 2 years, then moved to Springfield, MO where he attended Missouri State University and worked at Bass Pro Shops. In 1992, he moved back to Forsyth to take over the family business of Hometown Appliance Center, which he ran until his health required him to no longer work.

He loved playing softball and tennis, and was an avid KC Chiefs fan. Davin was an inspiration to everyone with his positive attitude he held throughout the years of his health problems. He continued to work and make deliveries for his business even with two prosthetic legs, never letting his disabilities discourage him. Regretfully, his health forced him to become a resident of Forsyth Nursing and Rehab since January 2015.

Davin is survived by his wife Mimi of Taneyville, MO; a daughter, Sydney Oliphant-Hawkins and husband, Zach Hawkins PFC, of 29 Palms, CA; 3 stepchildren, Zach Landis of Miami, FL, Alexis and Jacob Landis of Taneyville, MO; his mother, Jan Oliphant of Bentonville, AR; his father, David Oliphant and wife, Deanne, of Branson, MO; a sister Danica Oliphant-Rhodes, and husband, Dusty, of Rogersville, MO; nephew, Zayne Oliphant, of Bentonville, AR,. He is also survived by his grandmother, Elsie Cope, of Harrison, AR; and three special aunts, Ann Mason and Linda Cantrell of Harrison, AR, and Earline Swope of Springfield, MO; and a host of cousins and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the amazing staff Forsyth Nursing and Rehab for their love and kindness to Davin and the family.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Forsyth, from 5 to 7:00 pm with friends and family speaking at 6 pm. Relatives and friends are welcome to speak and share their past memories of Davin at this Celebration.
