Dianna K. Merritt, 70, of Forsyth, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at her residence. Services will be private.

Dianna Kay Merritt was born Thursday, April 18, 1946 in Aurora, Nebraska to Leroy Cecil and Daisy Mae (West) Jemison. She attended school in Aurora, NE. She worked in customer service, clerical, home health and as a dispatcher. She spent most of her life in Nebraska, Arkansas and Missouri.

Dianna was a very loving, independent and strong-willed lady. Her great sense of humor and quick-wit endeared her to others. She was always available by lending a helping hand to others in time of sickness and need.

Dianna enjoyed cooking, collecting cookbooks, flea markets, playing cards and attending potlucks with her neighbors and community. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She survived by three sons, Donald Lechleitner of Aurora, NE, Douglas Garrison also of Aurora, David Lechleitner and wife, Sheila of Shell Knob, MO; a daughter, Dena Beanblossom of Bennet, NE; a brother, Maurice Jemison and wife, Sharon of Giltner, NE; a sister, Marlene Hurley of Grand Island, NE; ten grandchildren, Stacey, Haleigh, Kolton, Jessica, Shelby, Corrinna, Dylan, Heather, Carressa, Tyler; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, LaDoris Jose.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
