Mr. Donald E. Little, 85 of Forsyth, MO died Monday, October 9, 2017 at his residence.
Graveside service with military honors will be announced at a later date.
Donald Edward Little was born Sunday, January 3, 1932 in Melrose Park, IL to Uhl
Harding and Florence (Vitoux) Little. Don attended school in Elmhurst, IL and graduated
from the York High School in the class of 1950. After finishing school, Don joined the
U.S. Army and served with Bravo Battery 75th Field Artillery Battalion as an Artilleryman
and served in Korea during the Korean War. He was honorable discharged in 1954 with
the rank of Corporal. He was awarded the Korean Service Ribbon, National Defense
Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. After his military service, Don
went to work for the Terrace Supply Co. in Villa Park, IL. He started out as a truck
driver and worked his way to Sale Representative for the company. During that time,
he married Mary Elizabeth Lyons on April 11, 1959 in Elmhurst, IL. He and Mary made
their home in Wheaton, IL where they lived for forty three years. Don retired in 1994
after forty-three years with the same company. After retiring, Don and Mary traveled
and decided to make Forsyth, MO their home after visiting the area in 2000.
Don was very outgoing with a profound sense of humor. He was trustworthy, kind,
friendly and patient. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors in general. He was
also an avid Chicago Bears football and Chicago Bulls basketball fan. In his quiet times,
enjoyed reading thrillers and historical novels. Most of all he was a loving husband,
father, grandfather and friend to all. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the
Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Little of Forsyth, MO; three daughters, Kathleen Drafke
and husband, Michael of Lemont, IL, Mary Beth Lazier of Forsyth, and Susan Heuer and
husband, Mark of Lake Charles, LA; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jerry, Dick and Bill Little.
