Donald P. Pratt, 92, of Kissee Mills went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday, September 21, 2018 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 5, 2018 in the Open Door Community Church in Cedar Creek with Pastor Isaac Pederson officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at 2:00 P.M. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.

Donald Parker Pratt was born Friday, June 4, 1926 in Fargo, ND to Guy Wesley and Pearl Ellen (Sullivan) Pratt. He attended school in Park Rapids, MN. When the attack on Pearl Harbor occurred, he immediately left school and enlisted in the U. S. Navy. He served as Seaman First Class on the USS Admiral Coontz transporting U.S. troops to the European and Pacific theaters during WWII. While on leave, he went back to Park Rapids and married his high school sweetheart, Marian Crook on April 29, 1945. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He and Marian moved to Vancouver, WA where he worked in a paper mill and the railroad for four years. They then moved to Chenoa, Il where he continued working for the railroad. They moved to West Chicago where he changed careers and became a carpenter. He did commercial carpentry for thirty-two years retiring in 1987. He and Marian moved from West Chicago to Kissee Mills in 1987.

Donald was a member of the Chicago Carpenters Union, American Legion and the Open Door Community Church of Cedar Creek. He was a very spiritual man that was quiet, kind, gentle and slow to anger. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marian of Kissee Mills; three sons, Mike Pratt and wife, Annette of Weed, CA, Randy Pratt and wife, Laurel of Kissee Mills, Bari Pratt also of Kissee Mills; a brother, Gerald Pratt and wife, Donna of Anderson, CA; a sister Patricia Sheldon and husband, Donald of Minneapolis, MN; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bonnie Pratt.
