Mrs. Edith L. Fry of Forsyth, MO, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at her residence at the age of ninety-three. A memorial service will be held at a later date with Pastor Marcus Davajon and Chaplain Randy Cantrell officiating.
Edith Lucille Fry was born Thursday, May 6, 1926 in Lawrence, KS to Robert Charles Stewart and Mabel Delcenia Bogart Stewart. She attended schools in Parsons, KS, Baxter Springs, KS and graduated from North High School in Wichita, KS in 1944. She attended Wichita University where she met her future husband, James Joseph Fry. They were married on September 30, 1950 in Wichita. Lucille was a housewife and mother to eight children. She began doing various crafts during this time but developed them later after her children were grown. In the last thirty years, she made and sold stuffed animals, worked with plastic canvas needlepoint, and learned to crochet in the last ten years. She was also an avid reader of inspirational books and inspirational romance novels.
Lucille was a member of the Forsyth United Methodist Church and previously of Bethany, OH UMC and the Sedgwick UMC. She was very active in the United Methodist Women in Bethany where she was President of the local UMW. She was also on the district level of the UMW and in Forsyth. She was a very social person and was well liked by everyone. Lucille lived her faith and was generous with her time and talents.
Lucille’s surviving family includes, Kathy Fry of Forsyth, MO; Jim Fry and wife, Kathy of Honolulu, HI; Debbie Gasper of Topeka, KS; Rosalyn Smith and husband, Kevin of Ocala, FL; Richard Fry and wife, JoAnn of Trenton, OH; Mike Fry and Amber McCullough of Tulia, TX; Bill Fry and wife, Terri of Dayton, OH; Thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Joseph Fry; one son, Stewart Fry.
