Mr. Herman G. Rossner, 91, of Forsyth died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor David Koenig officiating. Burial will be in the Chadwick Cemetery, Chadwick, MO.

Herman George Rossner was born Thursday, October 8, 1925 on the family farm north of Forsyth to Edward George and Ruthy Mae (Buffington) Rossner. He grew up hunting and fishing in the hills of Taney County and became a self-taught outdoorsman who loved being out in nature. Herman could identify any tree, wild flower and animal native of the area.

He was married to Juanita Blakey on August 13, 1946 in Forsyth. Juanita died October 31, 2004. Herman was a very honest and often outspoken man who he never knew a stranger. He had a natural talent for writing captivating articles for the Taney County Times called, "High Country". He worked in the Forestry Division of the Missouri Department of Conservation for twenty-six years and also manning the Hilltop Lookout Fire Tower. He and Juanita lived on a six hundred acre farm raising cattle and hogs. Above all, he loved his family and had a strong faith in God.

He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Cook and husband, Oscar of Forsyth, Barbara Casey and husband, Gary of Bradleyville; four grandchildren, Sara Ann Ridings, Amy Blair, Matthew and Brian Cook; five great-grandchildren, Corey, Emily, Casey, Keaton and Shamgar; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, wife, Juanita; one brother, Otto Dean Rossner; five sisters, Bessie Gideon, Elsie Brown, Margarete Rossner, Edna Stegall and June Anker.
