Irvin “Irv” Wright, 82, of Taneyville died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at his residence. The visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 30 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Kissee Mills Cemetery.

Irvin Lee Wright was born Wednesday, August 15, 1934 in Allentown, MO to Lyle and Ivory (Rosenberg) Wright. At the age of three the family moved to Glencoe, MO. He attended the Pond Elementary School and graduated from the Eureka High School as Valedictorian of the class of 1952. His family owned the Wright’s Store where Irv worked until his middle 20’s when he took over the business and converted the store to a meat processing business called “Irv’s Meat Process and Wright’s Market. He owned the business for over twenty years. He also volunteered in the local fire departments and later became Fire Fighter Battalion Chief of St Louis County for fifteen years. He retired in the 1980’s. In 1971 he met Rose Marie Harris in St. Louis. They were married August 7, 1971 in the Bethel Methodist Church, Pond, MO. He and Rose moved to Taney County in 1992.

Irv respected the friendship and closeness with his co-workers in both the good and bad times at the firehouse. They loved and respected him a great deal. He was laid back--never angry or had a bad word about anyone and was always respectful to the elders. He was always ready to help his neighbors and friends. In his fun- times he enjoyed mudding in his Jeep, football, hunting, fishing, camping and being with his wife and children. He was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church in Pond, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Rose of Kissee Mills; three sons, Eric Wright and wife, Brittany of Kissee Mills, David Hack of Ladd, IL, Steve Wright and wife, Colleen of Princeton, IL; two daughters, Eileen Wright and Susan Wright of Princeton, IL; a brother, Robert Wright of Perryville, MO; twelve grandchildren, Zachary, Sydney, Joseph, Isabelle, Joshua, Jeremy, Haley, Coby, Adam, Ethan, Justin and Skyler; three great-grandchildren and a close family friend, Laura Brown.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Doris Pruitt, Wanda Davis and Joyce Wright.

Memorials in memory of Irvin “Irv” Wright may be made to the Central Taney County Fire Department, 8118 E. Hwy 76, Kirbyville, MO 65679.
