Mr. Jack Bonick

April 5, 1941 - Febuary 16, 2019

Mr. Jack Bonick, 77, of Forsyth died Saturday, February 16, 2019 in the Forsyth Nursing and Rehab Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held a t 12:30 PM, Saturday, February 23 in the Fat Daddy's BBQ restaurant in Forsyth.

Jackie Dean Bonick was born Saturday, April 5, 1941 in Gary, IN. to Frank and Evelyn (Lawson) Bonick. He was raised in Gary and graduated from Portage High School in 1961. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Shangri-La Essex-Class Aircraft Carrier. He was honorably discharged in 1963 with the rank of Seaman. He moved back to Indiana and worked in the U.S. Can Steel Mill as a Mill Wright. He retired in 1988. In 1985 he met Judy Tallent in Portage, IN and they were married December 14, 1988 in Hobart, IN. That same year he and Judy moved to Forsyth to be near his mother.

Jack had a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He had a very sensitive side, was a little flirtatious and was a very loving, caring man. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Steel Workers Union and was of the Catholic Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; two sons, Jack Bonick and wife, Kim and Richard Bakewell and wife, Melissa; three daughters, Michelle Sakes, Christine Bonick and significant other Fred, and Sherri Cawley and husband, Doug; seven grandchildren, Josh Crandall and wife, Lisa, Ashley Madsen and husband, Tony, Alexander and Aidas Raudonis and Taunie Lee Bonick and Anna and Weston Cawley; four great-grandchildren; Annabell Raudonis, Tyler Crandall, and Weston and Quinn Madsen and many other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Wayne Bakewell and Douglas Bonick; two brothers, Charles and Frank Bonick and grandson, Kevin Lee Katona Jr.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
