Jane Carr, 76, of Forsyth died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at her residence. A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:00 AM Friday, December 1st in Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church, Forsyth with Father David Hulshof officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield at a later date.

Clara Jane Carr was born Wednesday, July 23, 1941 in Bloomfield, IA to Hugh William and Bertha Julia (Casteel) Whitacre. She attended school in Bloomfield and graduated in the class of 1960. She was married to Donald Carr on December 23, 1958 in Bloomfield. She became a homemaker and later worked for the United State Postal Service as a mail carrier for the city of Bloomfield. She worked for the Post office for thirteen years.

Jane was an extraordinary lady. She had an outgoing personality along with a great sense of humor and a determination that propelled her to do whatever she set her mind to. She was into woodcarving, flower gardening and stain glass art. She was a member of the Ozark Mountain Woodcarvers and the Route 66 Trikers. Jane never met a stranger and was often a volunteer for various responsibilities. She was organized and a 'take charge' kind of lady that enjoyed meeting and helping people. Since she was determined and in roundabout means, always got her way. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Forsyth; two sons, James Allen Carr of Ely, MN, Donald Lee Carr, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Rockaway Beach, MO; two daughters, Danita Colleen Carr of Rockaway Beach, Leca Ann Downing and husband, Ray of Ozark, MO; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary Wayne Carr; a sister, Bonnie Hudson; brother-in-law, Dale Hudson; nephews, Charles and David Hudson.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
