John Paul Roussell, aka "Pops," JP." Rosey, 74, of Springfield died Tuesday,
April 17, 2018 at his residence. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be from
5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, April 20 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral
Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
John Paul Roussell was born Friday, October 22, 1943 in Pine Ridge, MO to
George and Ethel (Baker) Roussell. He attended school in Forsyth and
graduated in the class of 1961. After graduation, he attended and graduated
from Graft Vocational Technical College in Springfield, MO. He worked for the
General Motors Co. in St Louis for a few years until he was drafted in the
U.S. Army in 1965 and served during the Vietnam era. He was stationed in
Stuttgart, Germany and was honorably discharged in 1967. In 1964 he met
Linda Kissee. They were married April 21, 1967 in St. Charles, MO. Following
his military service, he went back to work for GM for a short time and then
he and Linda moved to Branson and worked for Walter Cobb as a Funeral
Director's Assistant. In 1969, Paul and Linda moved to Springfield, MO where
he became a machinist for the Frisco-Burlington Northern and Santa Fe
Railroad. He worked for the railroad for thirty-five years retiring in 2003.
Paul was the nicest guy you'd ever meet. He was easy going and had no
problem expressing his good will towards others. He enjoyed photography,
genealogy, reloading ammunition, woodworking, hunting and spending time at
the family farm. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather
and friend to all.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Linda Roussell of Springfield; two
daughters, Laura Fesler and Stephanie Sperry; two sisters, Phyllies "Jeannie"
Rickman and Jackie Locke; four grandchildren, Hunter and Gracie Fesler and
Tessa and Chloe Sperry; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, R.J. Roussell; father and
mother in-law, Rex and Mary Nell Kissee.
