LeRoy Sarver, 89, of Forsyth died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at his residence.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, March 8th in the
Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 9:00 AM,
Monday April 9th in the Dickens Cemetery, Taneyville.
LeRoy Leslie Sarver was born Monday, October 29, 1928 in Osbourne, KS to
Roy Edward and Jennie Candus (Murphy) Sarver. He attended a one room
school in Osbourne and the Osbourne County School. He then attended a
local business college in KS. After school he worked as a farmer and moved
to Iowa to continue farming. He moved to Omaha, NE where he became an
over the road truck driver. He stayed in NE and became the owner of his
own trucking firm. He was a truck driver for forty-five years. In 1977 he met
Deloris Bryson. They were married July 19, 1977 in Ashland, NE. LeRoy
retired from trucking in 1985. He and Deloris moved to Forsyth in 1991 only
to return to NE where Deloris managed a HUD complex. After a couple of
years, they missed the unhurried pace of life in Forsyth so they returned.
Deloris died in 2014.
LeRoy was a hard worker that was goal oriented and very driven. He was
very particular, meticulous and a little stubborn at times. He enjoyed fishing,
remodeling houses and setting on the porch watching hummingbirds. He was
a member of the Teamsters Union.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Sarver of Springfield, VA, Leslie Sarver
and wife, Robin of Forsyth; two daughters, Garnet Gouge of La Vista, NE,
Colleen Sarver of Bellevue, NE; two sisters, Donna and husband Kenneth of
Great Bend, KS, Donita of Kansas City, KS; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Deloris and first wife, Norma
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral
