The Funeral Rule
It is our obligation at KSE Funeral Home to inform the families that we serve the rights that they have when choosing services with our funeral home. Many funeral providers offer various "packages' of commonly selected goods and services that make up a funeral. But when families arrange for a funeral, they have the right to buy individual goods and services. That is, (families, consumers) do not have to accept a package that may include items they do not want. According to the Funeral Rule established in 1994, by the Federal Trade Commission:
To insure that consumers have the right to pick and choose those items which they wish to purchase, the Federal Trade Commission has selected sixteen various funeral goods and services that must be separately priced on the General Price List. It is important to note that the funeral home is only required to list these goods and services if they offer them for sale. For your convenience we have listed the required items below.
It is our desire that all of our families compare prices and services so that ultimately the funeral reflects a wise and well-informed purchasing decision as well as a meaningful celebration of their loved one.
