Ronald W. Rich, 70, of Forsyth died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his residence. Memorial services will be private.

Ronald Wayne. Rich was born Friday, November 8, 1946 in McLeansboro, IL to Earl and Hazel (Cluck) Rich. He attended school in McLeansboro. After high school he joined he U. S. Marines. Following an honorable discharge, he worked at the State Hospital in Kankakee, IL. He then worked at in Joliet, IL in the Joliet Army Ammunitions Plant. He then moved to Millbrae, CA where he became an auto mechanic. He worked as a mechanic until he became disabled. He moved to Forsyth in 1999.

Ron was a rather private man that had a dry sense of humor and was often opinionated He was a good listener and loved to tell stories. Ron spent his spare time working on genealogy, collecting guns, photography and enjoyed stock car racing, air planes and reading. Was very loving and kind.

He is survived by a son, William Salzman and wife, Dawn of Gilbert, AZ; three brothers, Robert Rich and wife, Shiela of Evansville, IN, Donald Rich of McLeansboro, IL, David Rich and wife, JoAnn of Mcleansboro, IL; two grandchildren, Tabitha, Courtney; five great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Jordan, Josh, Tiki, Xander and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
