Russell J. Weiss, 59, of Merriam Woods died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at his residence.
Interment date and time will be announced at a later date.

Russell James Weiss was born Wednesday, November 27, 1958 in Colfax, WA to Gene Harlan and Blanche (Hayes) Weiss. He was raised in Washington and Arizona. After high school he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force from which he was honorably discharged in August, 1978. Russel was employed as a heavy equipment operator and worked in construction in California, and Arizona. He lived in Colorado during the summers alongside his brother, Gene and wintered in Merriam Woods with his son, Dillan.

Russell was fun-loving with a great sense of humor who joked without end. He loved anything to do with his boys and his dogs. He was a master of truck driving. He was never happier than working with a chainsaw and while working at the sawmill. When it came to burning materials, there was never anyone more efficient, magical and downright enthusiastic. He had a knack for cooking with the 'secret' ingredient of jalapeno peppers in everything he made. Russell was a quiet soul and tended to his family and friends in a person-to-person manner. He will be greatly missed. We will love him always.

He is survived by two sons, Dillan Weiss of Rockaway Beach, Dustin Weiss of Lake Havasu City, AZ; a brother, Gene Weiss and wife, Gay of Lake Havasu City; two sisters, Patricia Weiss of Seattle, WA, Deborah Weiss of Spokane, WA and one grandson, Darren Weiss.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
