Sherilyn "Sheri" Gipson, 72, of Douglas, Wyoming, formerly of Kissee Mills,
passed away, Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Douglas, WY. The funeral service
will be at 1:00 P.M Wednesday, May 22nd in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins
Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Voliva officiating. Interment will be in
the Kissee Mills Cemetery, Kissee Mills, MO.
Sherilyn Diane Gipson was born Thursday, February 20, 1947 in Robinson, KS
to Orville and Esther (Dunham) Lawrence. She became a Registered Nurse, a
job she loved. She met Joe Gipson and they were married September 16,
1968 in Butler, MO. Sheri ultimately became a stay at home mom to focus on
her children and later grandchildren. She and Joe lived in Kissee Mills for
many years. In 2009 she moved to Douglas, WY to be near her daughter.
Sheri was amazingly talented. Her hobbies included drawing, painting and
writing stories. The grandchildren's favorite story was Lunatic the Squirrel.
She also loved reading, camping, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. She was
a fun-loving person always cracking jokes and being goofy with her
grandchildren and everyone around her. She had a genuine love and a huge
smile for everyone in her life that had the pleasure knowing her. She never
knew a stranger and could start a conversation with anyone she met. She
was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Gipson and wife, Ann of Ozark, MO, Bo
Gipson and wife, Jeanie also of Ozark; two daughters, Shelly Allen and
husband, Travis of Douglas, WY, Shawna Croft and husband, Lee of Forsyth;
two brothers, Roger Lawrence and wife, Dorothy, Mitchell Lawrence and
wife, Julia and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; four brothers,
Ronnie, Jim, Dean and Norman Lawrence and a grandson, Rylan Salsbury.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral
