Thomas William "Tom" Bell, 63, of Cedar Creek MO died February 14, 2018 following a brief illness. Services will be held at a later date in Alta, IA.

Tom was born in Le Mars, Iowa on Thursday, October 14, 1954 and was the only son of William Alexander and Mary Justina (Hartman) Bell. Later the family moved to Alta, where he attended Alta Community School. Following graduation, he received training in auto body repair in Sheldon. Tom married Ellen (Ludwig) in 1974. They had two children, Amy Marie and Thomas Christian. In 1990 the family moved to an acreage west of Alta where Tom converted the old barn into his own auto body repair shop. In 2006 Tom moved to Cedar Creek where he lived the remainder of his years.

Tom was a quiet man who cared deeply for his friends and family. His family will miss his cheeky correspondences via mail and text messages. He had a way with animals and was rarely found without his dog by his side.

Survivors include his daughter, Amy Beecham and husband Shannon, grandsons Aiden and Liam Beecham of Kansas City MO; his son, Tom Bell and wife, Meghan; granddaughters, Sophia and Eva Bell of Waterloo, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three sisters, Mary Jean Bell, Ruth Katherine (Kate) Henery and Diane Laura (Annie) Holstein; and two nephews, Chad Micah Henery and Seth Andrew Henery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
