Tom W. Anderson

April 27, 1933 - January 4, 2019

Thomas Wilbert Anderson, Jr., 85, of Forsyth died Friday January 4, 2019, in Forsyth Nursing & Rehab. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 11, 2019 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home with Brother Roy Tennison officiating. Military honors and interment will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.

Tom was born Thursday, April 27, 1933 in Savannah, Georgia to Thomas Wilbert and Thedus (Crosby) Anderson. He attended Commercial High School in Savannah and graduated in the class of 1952. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as an Airman First Class. Tom served several years in Korea during the Korean War. After his military service, he settled in Kansas City where he raised his family of one son and five daughters while working as an Assistant Chemist for Gulf Oil Corporation.

Tom moved to Eminence, Missouri and bought a canoe rental and camp ground called, Pickin' and Grinning, located on the Current and Jacks Fork River. In 1983 he met Ginny Kramer and they sold the camp ground and moved back to Savannah. There Tom and Ginny were married April 27, 1984 on Tybee Island Beach, GA. They settle there and spent many days and evenings swimming, walking and enjoying the beach.

After several years of beach living, they settle next to his parents in Clyo, GA were Tom worked as Plant Supervisor at Georgia Southern College. He loved to attend the football games for the Bulldogs. They settle there until they moved to Forsyth, Missouri in 2001 when Tom retired and Ginny worked as Business Manager at Forsyth Nursing & Rehab.

Tom was a remarkable man who was kind, loving and outgoing. He was a member of the VFW, Korean War Veterans, and an avid reader, especially his Bible. He loved to fish, coon hunt, traveling, rose gardening, bowling and being with family and friends when possible. His biggest enjoyment was when his son Tom would take him to a Chiefs game or he could watch them on television.

He is survived by his wife, Ginny of Forsyth; two sisters, Joanne and Janet; a son, Tom Anderson and wife, Karen of Fairway, KS; daughters, Linda Livingston of Ohio, Sharon Carter of Overland Park, KS, Karen Scott, of Pomona, KS, Diane Coates of Ottawa, KS, Susan Raines and husband, Jim of Overland Park, KS; step sons, Benny Stein of Forsyth, MO, Robert Stein and wife, Becky of Cape Girardeau, MO, and adopted daughter, Benni Lynn (Pickle) Stein of the home.

Tom was the proud grandfather of step grandson Eli Stein, step granddaughters Hallie Stein and Ashley Stein, and grandchildren, Amy Andersen, Hannah Carter, Holly Conway, Kristin Livingston, Jeannie Gardener, Eddie Carter, Natalie Solomon, Jamie Cook, Derek Raines, Jeremy Raines, Jonathan Raines, Dana Raines, Collin Raines, Cassie Raines, Joel Raines, Michael Scott, Daniel Scott, Nathaniel Scott , Amber Scott, Kelly Carter and Ashley Carter, Sarah Christopher, Christine Long, Becky Woolery, Caleb Woolery and John Coates; 29 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth.
